Ride-Rite air helper springs are the workhorse of Firestone's air helper spring line. The double convoluted air springs offer maximum load capacity as well as years of worry-free service and support.
Ride-Rite air helper springs are installed between the frame of your vehicle and the suspension, providing load support by using air pressure.
Firestones air springs have become synonymous with quality, durability, and customer support that is second to none. Ride-Rite air bag kits utilize a pair of convoluted air springs which can be adjusted to accommodate your load capacity. The Ride-Rite series is capable of 3,200 - 5,000 lbs. of load level capacity. After installed, your ride will be enhanced by reducing inter-leaf friction which will keep your truck level, reduce suspension fatigue, and increase the stability of your Chevy / GMC vehicle.
Overall, Ride-Rite air bags have many advantages for your vehicle and will help to improve steering control and braking effectiveness, level headlight beams, reduce tire wear, keep leaf springs from permanent sagging, reduce bottoming out with air cushions between the axle and frame, absorb road shock, and match your vehicles load for an overall improved ride.
Q: Will these Air Bags fit on my 2014 Tacoma if install a Gooseneck Hitch down the line ? A: Yes, because of the "no-drill" feature included with these firestone air bags the upper brackets get mounted to the inside of the frame while the gooseneck hitch will mount to the outside of the frame. Both of these addons can exist together and will not cause a problem throughout the suspension of your Tacoma
The air springs were backordered for a week or so. When they arrived they were easy to install, about 90 minutes. They have worked very well. I've had them on my truck for several months now. Thanks SD truck springs!
Amazing product. It has held up very well. Easy install
The threads on one of the air fittings that screws into the bags was damaged. Now that bag doesn't hold air for very long .
Pretty tough installation but worth it, decided on this approach to level out my Tacoma lean and it worked liked a charm versus adding leafs springs, or helper springs, or blocks. So far there holding the air pressure constant. It takes 30 lbs more on the left side of my truck to level it out side to side. Dealership side there's nothing they can do, pitiful...Great product.
2015 Tacoma TRD. The springs arrived promptly and the package was undamaged and contained all the advertised pieces. Install was a little more involved than I had originally thought but that was due to the tight access where the bags are installed. Getting some of the bolts tight was a challenge. The provided instructions were lacking but there are multiple videos online that cover the procedure. Youtube is your friend. Remove the spare and both rear tires. With the axle on jack stands, use a floor jack under the hitch to raise and lower the frame to allow you to install the assembled spring. The flared nuts on every bolt are tight. Use an impact gun. Post install: The ride is surprisingly good. I can tow my utility trailer level and can put a bag of dogfood in the bed without my headlights shooting up into the sky. I think this is a must for every Tacoma. Thanks.
Much cheaper solution for weak Toyota leaf springs. Installed pretty easy and will be putting them on my F250 next. Great product!
Great product . SD shipped really quick , so easy to install . Great !!!
It's working great now. Fitment was not great and I had to use a cutoff wheel to get a bracket to seat properly. Over all I like what it does and it does what it should.
firestone ride rite air bag helper springs. exactly what i needed in my truck for towing a bumper hitch trailer that squatted my truck down before. easy to install, very clear instructions. i installed them in my driveway with very few tools in a matter of a couple of hours, including a break for lunch (beer). easy to adjust pressure for hauling or empty. best price i could find anywhere.
Pretty good quality, fairly easy to install, and great for anyone who tows anything or wants to level their truck out with running blocks or aals.
They fit the truck really good and very easy to install and the shipping was fast. I recommend this company to get your air bags from. Oh and they were the lowest cost place I could find. 100$ cheaper then anywhere in Alberta.
My 2014 Tacoma squatted in the rear because of my truck cap. I hated the look. The Ride-Rite bags raised the rear for a better look and smooth ride.
Perfect fit, clear installation instructions and great addition for rear end stability. Haul lots of wood/lumber, machinery, etc. with confidence. Purchased the T connector to ensure even air pressure which I normally keep between 20 & 40 psi. Very happy with product. Prompt delivery!
This product is perfect for leveling the bed based on the load. The install was rather easy.
Ordered kit 2407 from SD; prices are awesome and shipping was super fast. Installed the Ride Rites on my 2007 Tacoma TRD double cab with absolutley no isuues. I watched the provided videos first which was a great help! Everything went together easily with no surprises or conflicts and the quality is first rate. The next day I took a 700 mile long trip with my travel trailer in tow and the Ride Rites "doing their thing". Truck rode smooth, level and handled great. This product is awesome... I can't say enough good about them. Only thing is I wish I had purchased them years ago. Thank you SD.
The installation was not too bad but a bit awkward to reach behind the frame to install bolts. The air hose fitting at the top on one side leaked. I was never able to get it to hold air. The worst part, though, is these take up the space where there used to be travel. With them installed, there was no travel in the suspension and the ride was rock hard with the minimum 5 psi pressure in them. I finally took them off and purchased some bilstien heavy duty shocks...much cheaper and WAY BETTER. Now I have a set of these sitting in storage. I'll sell them to you for MUCH less than you'll spend on new ones! They have all the parts. Unless you have a large camper or are hauling a lot of weight, these bags suck, in my humble opinion.
After having paid to have my 2014 Toyota leveled off, I loaded up my truck and the rear end sank to the frame. I ordered your air bags because the shop wanted another $1000 to put in some air bags of lesser quality. Your air bags were easy to install (I am a shade tree mechanic, and not a good one). I grossly overloaded my truck with about 20 gallons of water and 20 gallons of gasoline, fire wood, food, camping supplies. Did I mention I have a winch and ARB brush guard on the front, Tepui Tent on the roof and a safari rack with a mattress, spare tire, jack, etc. over the back, plus a camper shell. I went from Tucson to Douglas to Creel, Mexico. I did a lot of dirt, undeveloped roads. From Creel I went into Copper Canyon, Batopilas, Mexico (with a lot of side excursions). So far this was the easy part. From Batopilas to San Ignacio to Choix, my maps, Nav system and google maps do not show the correct roads or any roads at all. Everything is dirt road going through some very undev
These airbags work perfectly. I purchased them so I could haul my camper. I am able to lift the rear end as if there is no weight in the bed. Definitely a must have for my camper.
I have installed this product a bit more than a year ago and have repeatedly abused them both on and off road. I work in the mineral exploration industry and usually go as far as the roads lead me, and then some. I have relied on the firestone airbags for the extra weight carried by my Tacoma for my work and they have worked flawlessly. I did add a 1 1/4 inch homemade spacer because I have a lift kit (about 2 1/2 to 3" lift). I highly recommend this product to Tacoma owners.
They work very well. Exactly as advertised. No complaints.
Very easy to install and use. Once I figured out the right amount of air to use while pulling my boat it was awesome. These help steady my Tacoma while taking the stress off the lack luster springs that are standard on Tacomas. Glad I discovered them!
It firmed the suspension up, it rides a little rough but then up can let it back down. Insulation very easy, instruction very well printed. Yes I would recommend to a friend. Matter of fact already have.... Thank you for this product!
was disappointed with the packaging , the parts were falling out of the box when i picked it up , and for install was suppose to be no drill , but ended up having to drill them , was not impressed but preform well
2407 Ride-Ride Air Helper Springs working great! An oscillating cutting tool was a GREAT help,,,, relative seconds to cut stop bumpers, where hours may have been required with a hack saw. No leaks,,,, happy customer. Attachment of lower brackets requires special attention. Some reviewers have mentioned breaking the included 3/8" carriage bolts. Some early versions of instructions included no torque specification for these bolts. The lower brackets are relatively soft and bill bend severely if torqued to anything approaching 32 lb/ft which would be normal for a dry 3/8" bolt. Do not tighten them that tight,,,, you will severely bend the bracket(s) if you don't break something first. Newer included instructions, if you look closely specify 15 lb/ft torque for those bolts. I suggest you not exceed that value. Even at 15 lb/ft my second lower bracket bent some. No need to over tighten,,,,look how it's built, they are not going anywhere. Overall a super product,,, mine's
