The leaf springs I ordered for my Tacoma are great. They were delivered very quickly, too. I had broken both leaf springs on my truck working on rugged pipeline ROW. The new ones I got are heavy duty 4 leaf springs. My son installed them, the U-bolts fit well. There was only one little thing and that was that one of the nuts was the wrong size so my son just had to run out and get one, which wasn't a big deal.
Springs are very squeaky. I called in and spoke to someone That documented my call but I have yet to hear from anyone Regarding a solution
3/5 due to the fact that not long after installing them, one of the leaf packs started creaking, badly. Specifically, the leaf pack on the passenger side. Other than that, they have performed exactly as advertised. Now, I am in the painful process of trying to stop the creaking. I can hear it when moving through traffic at red lights, when driving through the parking garage at work, and while parking at home. Makes my truck sound like a piece of junk...
Me and a friend of mine just installed this set of leaf springs on a 2005 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner. Before you start, make sure you spray all of the shackles and u-bolts with penetrating oil or liquid wrench. I received the leaf springs sooner than I expected. It was very well made and much heavier and sturdier than the factory leaf springs. It took us about 3 hours and the truck rides firm and stiff just like the day I bought. It also sits about 2.5 inches higher in the rear than the factory. It's a great product and I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to make this upgrade to their vehicle.
These springs make loud banging noises I have reinstalled twice and they continue to make banging noises!
Springs work great. I have towed my travel trailer several times, and the difference between these and the originals is night and day. The good ride is also still there empty.....I went 4 wheeling on my last trip, and it rode and handled with more control.....Not really stiffer, just better controlled. Installation was just what I expected. A bit of heavy work for an old man, but I was able to do it myself. Both sides took a bit over 4 hours, with installation of the new shocks, as well. Overall, I am a very happy customer.
I purchased these springs to replace a pair of stock 2/1 leafs that were worn out and sagging. They did exactly as I had hoped, a stiffer more stable ride, and a bit more weight carrying ability, only raising the rear end of the truck about an inch over stock. When I replaced the springs I also replaced the rear and front shocks. I installed the springs with the truck up on a lift. Installation was simple and straight forward. Support the rear end on a jack, remove the old springs, and replace them with the new ones. All in all a minimal expense for a significant improvement to the truck.
I had the dealer install these and they fit really well. They old springs were two leaf so the one thing that I hadn't thought of was the fact that 5th original shocks wouldn't reach since the new springs raised the back end.
I have a 2008 Tacoma 4X4 w/extended cab. The springs were a great fit. I had to have new U-bolts made for it, the old ones were too short. The truck's rear now rides about an inch higher than it used to, but I gained a lot of load capacity. Much better and cheaper than the Toy stock springs. I have since loaded the bed with max weight, (maybe a little over loaded), while transferring paver stone, The new springs actually handled the weight. I don't think I could have purchased better replacement springs for the price and capability. They were very easy to install too! I was thinking about adding helper leafs, but after using these, as is, for a while, I decided against it, they are great the way they are.
