If not equipped with factory trailer hitch order mounting kit number 7699 for installation Toyota Tundra 4wd or 2wd Anti-Sway Bars by Hellwig are an easy and affordable way to upgrade your vehicles handling performance. The torsional effect of the sway bar will significantly reduce sway and body roll. The sway bar will help to transfer the pressure on the outboard wheels and apply opposite pressure on the inboard wheels. Weight is more evenly distributed to all four wheels helping your Tundra stay more level with the road - making for a safer, sturdier, and more enjoyable ride.
Hello, The Hellwig sway bar did seem to be good quality. It wasn't too hard to figure out and install. Took me and a friend about 90-120 minutes to assemble and install. It definitely impacted the driving ability of my 2016 Toyota Tundra CrewMax. Before it had body roll in cornering. Now it has none, other than tire noise and slight drift from the factory, more aggressive mud/snow tires. I would recommend these to solve body roll. Good looks and quality. Thanks and happy driving!
If you're on the fence on what to get to improve your ride; shocks, air bags, sway bars or different tires. I say get the Hellwig sway bar it's a great overall improvement. I drove home in the rain and off the freeway loop and felt like I was in complete control the whole time. It made my truck handle like a car. I could only take the loop at 35mph and that's with me feeling the corner. Now with this upgrade I can take it at 45 mph and barely feel it. It took a little bit of sloppiness out of the ride as well. I know the frame on the Tundra isn't rigid, but with the bar it makes it feel a little more stable. It's easy to install, the only thing thats a little difficult is the adjust. It might take a few tries to get it right. I will be giving another review after my 3000 mile round trip. Hope this helps!
