The bar is an impressive piece of steel and it does significantly improve the handling of the motorhome but the fitment it terrible! The geometry between the added base-plate and the end of the anti-sway bar on the right I-beam is incorrect. This creates too much angle and preloads the down link causing gaps on one side of the bushings and the bar and bushing extrusion on the opposite side. I have spent several hours readjusting and trying different torque sequences to relieve the bushings. The solution it a shorter bolt and to cut down the spacer. If cost is your only concern then this bar is for you. If proper fitment and a frustration free installation are important then I recommend exploring the other after market options.

1994 Chinook Concourse (21' RV on E350 dually chassis). It didn't really seem to affect front sway that much. BUT... between this front bar, new shocks all around, and a new cheap steering damper shock to replace the dead original one, the motorhome went from being scary to drive at highway speeds, to feeling pretty darned stable. Others with the same RV have had the same result.

Poor communication from SD. Order took over 2 weeks. Helwig should be ashamed of their poor installation instructions. Bar itself is very substantial and impressive. Mounting hardware is not very heavy duty looking. Torque instructions are vague.Installation took about three hours. A little longer as I had to drill the factory frame bracket nuts and replace with grade 8 bolts with nuts behind them. Test drive showed a substantial improvement in handling and roll resistance.

First off SD truck springs are great to deal with ,fill out the order click delivered in a few days and the best deal on the net.
The front swaybar for my 08 class c E450 motor home is great.
I cannot even begin to express what a difference this simple part made in the drivability,no more white knuckles especially when passing the big rigs

Definitely a little bit of a pain in the ass to install, better directions with photos could be very useful. But it stiffened up the front end nicely. Exactly what it claims to be nice solid front end sway bar.

I have a 29' Fleetwood C-class and started with the Front Sway Bar...Wow what a huge difference! I could immediately not feel the side-side rolling motion. Installation instructions are lacking in details but with a little mechanical ability it was straight forward. I have the rear bars on order and suspect they will take care of the last 20% of rolling motion.

After having Sway Bars installed. I noticed right away I did not fill my RV rocking from side to side pulling onto the road. I also noticed how the steering felt tighter. 2 weekends ago we drove about 2 hours to a RV resort. While driving we were passed by trucks without feeling our RV getting pushed out of our lane. The best thing was after 2 hours of driving did not have that white knuckle feeling, felt relaxed. Best upgrade we have so far.

The HD Hellwig front sway bar was installed on my 2008 Ford E450-29ft-BT Cruiser-class C RV. I hope this was the final upgrade to elimimnate the consant correcting the steering wheel. The rear air bags & front air springs both had some positive results on the push from trucks & strong crosswind. After front end alignment then a 3000 mile road trip, I still noticed my new front tires were wearing inside & outside. I then kinda determined that it was from constantly correcting the steering wheel back & forth. After installing the Hellwig sway bar it now handles much better & a pleasure to drive--finally. Hutchenson Ford in St James,Mo. did the alignment, I passed your info to them as they were having same problems with 1 ton Ambulances & church pass vans.
Thank you

Four stars because I was amazed at the difference in highway cruising stability by upgrading both front and rear bars. Not getting blown around by semis any more. Why the manufacturers don't install these as a matter of course, I do not understand.
One star subtracted because the mounts for the front bar leave something to be desired -- precision. Axle brackets left me questioning whether I had them tight enough and weather they will withstand the stress and the frame mounts for some reason had oversized and oblong holes and bolts with much too flexible washers that allowed the bolt to move sideways as it was tightened and break the threads in the chassis requiring serious repair.

The sway bar was very straightforward to install. It fit perfectly and makes a big difference with the handling. I put on a rear bar and 4 shocks at the same time, so I cannot say what this bar did in isolation, but the package transformed the driving from white knuckle to one handed.
